This Tofu is very soft and smooth. It can be used for many things. Being very bland it adds protein to smoothies and icings. Can also be used to make cheese sauce.
We keep these in hand. They’ve make great quick cruelty free “ egg” salads and scrambles. We add some to our Just Egg liquids for texture when making scrambled “ eggs”. The egg industry is so darn sad, we are grateful to have these delicious ( and healthy) alternatives.
It's so soft that it start falling apart when you try to get it out of the package. Hard to cut and breaksdown easy I would get the next firmness level up .
Silken tofu is extremely tender and falls apart easily, which is one of its charms if you aren't buying it to stir-fry or anything like that. It blends silky-smooth for sauces and dips, is perfect for a pot of delicious Korean sundubu jigae, and if you're careful with it, will slice into tender, appealingly quivering cubes to alternate with ripe avocado slices and top with soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, minced ginger and garlic, and some toasted sesame seeds; though the firm silken variety is a bit easier to handle.
Tip: Stock up on these before freezing weather hits, because the texture will get spongy if frozen in shipping, and the only thing it's good for at that point is cubing and frying into puffs. Also delicious, but not what you might have planned.
