This knife is a great deal, especially for the price. Quality seems to be close to much more expensive knives I have. It is well made and looks like itl would last last a long time. My only comment is that it seems to be be balanced more toward the handle, and I would prefer it to be balanced more toward the blade. Don't think you could beat it for the price!

I already have a couple of 8" chef knives. They are not super high end, but they are pretty nice and they cut great. I am thinking of starting some cooking classes and I was looking for an inexpensive knife that I could recommend to my students. Look no further. First of all, I love the size, compared to the 8" knives. It has great weight, and grip/bolster/handle, which all help with control. It cuts great. I guess the only gripe I might have is that it seems to lose sharpness sooner - though maybe it is because it is now the knife I go for most of the time... and let's not forget about the price. I got it during Prime Days for around $7, but even at it's regular price of around $12, it is a super great value.

In fairness, I did get this one 'on sale' but it was under $7. The quality of this knife is on par with professional quality knives I own (that cost 10Xs as much). It's got a full metal tang (metal from one end to the other) and that tang is part of the handle, front and back (making the handle more stable and less likely to come apart). It's got three metal rivets and the handle is solid. Most inexpensive knives I've seen, also have no effort put into the original blade sharpness, this one was ready to go, extremely sharp out of the box... and the packaging was excellent.

As I said, it came VERY sharp and, with honing, has held that same edge through about 5 or so uses. It feels sturdy and is a little on the thick side. I can use a pinch grip comfortably. The base of the blade towards the handle is a tiny bit rough, but that hasn't effected my use yet.

I will update this if/when it loses its edge or if anything else happens to it.

So far, I'm quite satisfied. Great for the price.

It is great for cutting corn off the cob and excellent for cutting up bacon. Not great on large tomatoes but that is what a 8" chef's knife is for. The handle is pretty nice, I have small hands, so the handle does great for me. Overall, great product for the price in my opinion.
